Saddlebag lids stuck

Postby hawke333 » Sun Apr 24, 2011 11:07 am

Hi I am new to the site and new to Goldwings. I just got a 1999 Aspencade. I am having difficulty opening the saddlebag lids I got the cargo lid opened and turned the manual levers for the bag lids. I felt it unlatch but the lids will not open. I also tried the levers under the cargo truck. Can anyone give me some help with this problem?

Did you use the "center lever" of the three levers under the trunk to open the trunk lid, or did you use the key? The key lock should be in the horizontal position(unlocked) to use the levers under the trunk. In the vertical position(locked) it will not allow you to use the levers to open any of the storage compartments. The levers that you turned inside the trunk unlock the helmet locks on the under side of the trunk not the saddlebags. Hope this helps.

Couldn't figure out what manual levers to turn to open the bags. ??? Bet you are right.
