Snow finally melted off - so I have been riding for the last week. Filled up 3 times and have been averaging 34 mpg. Last fall we went on a cruise to Nova Scotia and riding double we averaged for the trip 39.25 mpg. Not sure why the drop, other than cold - long choke times, etc. I have a 2000
1500. Still better than a car with these high gas prices.

My 96 gets about 35 to 38 mpg at 65 mph. If I run at 75 mileage drops a lot.

My 1993 gets around 40-42 at 70MPH solo but when I load it up and pull my Timeout camper it will drop to around 32-36 depending on conditions. Many things make a big difference on MPG.

Consistently get 42-44 and when with other wings this tall shield gets better milage. Last November took a ride north in Virginia to Parkway and rode south to Georgia. With all the side trips we got 49.7 average for 1300 miles, but 80% was 55 mph or less. Did replace the K&N air filter, oil and rear with synthetic and last week got 44 on 375 mile trip. At only 78k been riding for months with new belts and plugs but no time to change.

I can't get gas without ethanol around my home, but when I can get it, my '94 Aspencade gets above 40mpg. Even on 10% ethanol- 87 octane, I'm getting 40mpg if I stay 65mph or less. When I drive my bike to work, it's 60 miles one way, lots of hills, and most of it done @ 70mph or above and I average 37mpg on E 87. No difference on E 93.

Last year I took a 920 mile ride on the Blueridge parkway. I traveled with a Gs 750 Suziki ( 78 model ) Wechecked mileage at every fillup and mine ran consistant between 38 and 39 MPG. around home traveling to work and back with some evening rides through the mountains it is alwaYS 37 mpg :D I check it at almost every tankfull and sometime keep a running total for a 1000 mile check always between 37 and 38 MPG . This is the running mileage checking at approx every 3 rd tank at average. and is over a 20,000 plus total mileage report with approx 64,000 on the clock Forgot to point out the 750 Suz got 39 to 40 mpg on that trip

Bike is running on Dunlop Elite 491's with 42psi. Drop pressure to 38 in rear and mileage drops 4-5 mpg. The shield is big and once lowered fuel drops a few mpg and helmet hit top, so it is up all the way. Helps in the rain too.

Got a 96 Aspencade that gets about 38-40 running around 65-70. Love it though. My truck gets 14 if I am lucky. I'll take 40 anyday.

I started keeping track of stats late last summer when I got the "gas cubby" app for my iPhone. It's easy to use and provides more information than I could ever use -- and it's FREE.

Bottom line: 37.2 mpg on my '02

I have a 2000 GL1500SE, been getting 35mpg, but carbs need cleaning as the bike has a miss in it. I ran some techron through it, 2 fillups later it is 37mpg at 65-70MPH. The best I ever got was 42 riding at 60-65 through the Texas Hill Country.

I have an 02 VTX retro 1800 and a 93 SE and they both get right at 35 mpg. Sometimes a tad more and sometimes a tad less but overall 35 mpg.

GL1500 1991-Interstate, 105K miles, #2 to largest windshield.
1-UP I get about 44 non-ethanol, about 38 with ethanol.

I don't understand it.
We're supposed to be saving oil with the ethanol blended in it yet we're using more gas due to it's poor economy.
It's also costing us more in gas price and also in less mileage to get where we're going with ethanol.
It's a no brainer, ethanol SUX!!!..... our money.

I get 35 city and 40 interstate with cruise set doing about 70+ For my 94 Aspencade I'm very happy with my mileage. But I wish I could get different gas besides 10% ethanol.

I have a 97 1500, and bought cheapest gas when filling 97oct, 95oct, blended, whatever

I just did a 5,900 km (4,000 mi) trip, and did some testing
At
120km/hr 43mpg 75mi/hr
110km/hr 50mpg 68mi/hr
100km/hr 55mpg 60mi/hr

I did these runns during my trip, had to take it up to 130, 140 to pass at times but for the duration of the tank , I kept it at the speed, 100km/hr is very boring through the hills and valleys

my '89 wing 1500 is geting anywhere from 38 in town to as high as 49 highway depending on length of trip. after about 400 miles of highway my milage always seems to increase. most of the time i average about 40 to 45 with a combination of city, highway, 2 lane backroads solo and 2-up. my bike just turned 49,000 miles.
