Which Windscreen for a Tall Guy??

Post by Tail Gunner » Fri May 06, 2011 10:53 pm

Hi All
I just picked up a 94 GL1500. I am 6'4" . The bike has a tall windscreen. I am not sure which model screen but the top of the screen is at my eye level. So I have 2 problems with it. First, the wind hits my helmet instead of going over my helmet. Second problem is that the screen is just at eye level so I am looking at the top of the screen. Any recommendations ?

You didn't say if you wanted a taller screen or a lower screen. I prefer to look over the screen and cut about an inch and a half of of the stock screen. It's easy to do with a rotary tool, then smooth it with a file.
If you want a taller screen just measure yours and buy one that is taller.

I love the tall Tesla; keeps all the bugs away and can ride without glasses when weather goes bad, but at 5' 8" it works. Have let other much taller ride and the #1 complaint is head contact with top of shield when leaning forward. Joe is 6' 10" and looked like Bones driving with his head sticking out the sunroof of Lincoln.
