Adjusting windshield

Post by davidmring » Fri Jun 17, 2011 3:52 pm

Thank you very much for the help with the evaporative canister. I will drain the hoses by the alternator.

Another question. I have an adjustable windshield on this 1996 SE. The windshield when moved up, will not stay up. I would like it to be a couple of inches higher (taller than the last rider) and when I loosen the levers, move the windshield up and then tighten the levers, it falls down to the lowest position. Any suggestions on how to tighten up the levers, or add spacers or somehow get it to stay in the higher position. Gravity works too well in this case.

Windshield lever adjustment is fairly simple. This procedures is taken from the service manual.
