Front Wheel Removal

Any advice on removing the front wheel. i would like to try to remove it myself so that it doesnt have to go to the dealer for a tire replacement. easy job?

Not hard to do. If you need a manual download at this site.

Put on center stand.
Jack the front wheel off the ground.
Remove both fender side covers. There is a post and rubber grommet that holds the back on and two tabs that lock under the fender. Be careful or you will break the tabs off.
Remove both rotor covers and the brake hose clamp. There are 3 bolts.
Remove speedometer cable from gear housing.
Remove either the right or the left brake caliper. 2 bolts, one at the top and one lower at the anti-dive assembly. It's best to support the caliper with a bungee cord or a wire.
Remove the axle bolt from right side.
Loosen the axle pinch bolts.
Remove the axle.
Remove the wheel.

Axle bolt torque: 65 ft lb
Pinch bolts: 16
Caliper bracket bolt: 17 ft lb
Anti dive bolt: 9 ft lb
