floor boards or pegs on a 1500

Postby lrjackel13 » Fri Oct 30, 2009 1:56 am

i have a 1995 aspencade with floorboards and heel toe shifter. here lies the problem, i need to lower the floorboards, is there any way to do this or is there a lowering (offset) adapter for the stock pegs. I need about two inches lower and maybe alittle forward. Help. Linden

I had the Markland floorboards on my '93 1500 Aspy and really hated them as they were too high and too small for my big feet. I didn't like the distance between the heel and toe of the shifter ( too short) or the feel of the linkage. I just bought some Kuryakyn foot pegs and picked up a stock shifter and went with that configuration. All I can say is I am GLAD I did it. Neutral was a bear to find with the boards and is now a piece of cake and the shifter feels like a new one again. My toes no longer contact the backside of the heads and are now under the motor where there is some room for them. I am always on my highway pegs whenever possible so I never missed the floorboards.
