Hi all
this is my 1st post.
My compufire alternator failed (only 50k miles and 14 years old), so while i was waiting for a replacement i decided to redo the brakes, while redoing the rear brakes i noticed the cv joint had torn boots ( no damage to joints, caught it in time), as long as i had the joints off i decided to figure out how to change the rear end oil. Apparently the only way to change the oil is to remove the rear end. Good thing it doesn’t have to be changed often. Got it all back together and everything works fine. It took me about 10 hrs total to fix it, not counting running around to get parts.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Interesting avatar, who's bike is on fire?
You got 14 years out of the Compufire alternator? Fantastic, now I have a good idea how long it will last on mine.
I put one on mine last year when the original (OEM) went south.
