1990 Goldwing 1500 GL - No Spark

Postby rizzoma » Fri Jul 08, 2011 9:55 pm

Have a 1990 1500GL that completely died going 75 mph on the highway. Have had the following already checked out: coils, computer, everything that gets a spark. The bike is at the mechanics and they have no clue on what the problem is. Any input or help is highly appreciated!

I always start with simple stuff first. Is the kill switch on "on" , does the battery have plenty jucie, is the main fuse good.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

Also, check that the terminals inside the kill switch aren't corroded or worn - a simple test with an AVO meter can quickly determine if this is the problem, and it is a common failure point on Hondas.
Keep it rubber side down and shiny side up and all will be well with the world!

Have them check the "bank angle sensor". Been known to fail.
