coolant overfill
I overfilled my coolant on my 2000se and when i stopped after a four mile ride there was a big puddle of coolant under the bike. How can i tell there is not a leak. The resevour was still full.

Re: coolant overfill
Hi,
I did the same thing and had an overflow. Be sure to rinse off the front of the bike with plenty of water, coolant is corrosive.
After you are sure the level is correct just monitor it and check under the bike for any signs of leakage.

Art,s Right I did the same thing few years back, I stold My wifes turkey baster ( without Her knowing it) and added a piece of hose on the end to remove the excess. No more leaks. I kept the baster in the garage for further use, So far I have not got caught.

Re: coolant overfill
Thanks for the help. But the coolant was only coming from underneath not the reserve resevour. Someone mentioned that there is a overflow bottle somewhere underneath but they were not sure where. I would like to empty that if it is possible.

Re: coolant overfill
Mine was leaking from the resevoir cap because it was full to the top when I shut it down. And ran down the body work and frame, and finally under the bike it was a 95gl1500, I could not tell You if they changed the cooling system design later on, But the earlier models just had a hose from the radiator to the resevoir. Check to see if Your radiator cap is good I had that problem as well. Good luck
