electrician help please !!!

hi i have a 88 gl 1500 wing i was undoing the batterie and my wrench touched the frame now the starter button wont operate has any one done this themselves and managed to fix it if so wat do i look for and how do i fix it please cheers dave ;)

probably not a big deal but it's time to check the fuses.
the primary one is a 50 amp close to the battery.
there might be a spare if you look for it.

cheers all fuses relays seem good wat i did do is run a wire from the pos screw on the fuse box and ran it straight to the black green wire in the engine stop switch on the handle bars so iv bypassed something at least it works but its obv not right i need to find the bit i must have damaged lol its doing my head in at the mo :x

Hi out there.

Just an advise.

When you are undooing the batteri ALWAYS undo the negative first. If you touch the frame with the wrench nothing happend. And if you have undone the negative, nothing will hapend if the wrench touch the frame undooing the posetive.

The main fuse that sits vertically just in front of the battery that was referred to earlier in this thread was probably not your problem?
Remove your seat. There is ANOTHER heavy duty fuse, starter/reverse fuse, that sits transversely on the rear side of one of the frame's cross braces....look in the area aft of the fuel pump, 10mm bolt right in the middle of this brace, holding a fuse just like the main fuse in front of the battery...this fuse is on the backside of the cross brace.


Keep the rubber side down.
