May sound dumb, but are they installed? my 89 has a spot but didn't come with them. Haven't followed later years enough to know about those....

My 99 didn't come with rear speakers either. I found a set with a fader switch on ebay, works great.

if its an interstate or aspencade 1500 it didn't come with rear speakers, only 1500 se's came with rear speakers. if you have an se look on the side of the contorl that changes the radio frequincy and make sure the fader knob isn't turned all the way to the front
