Running Temp Question

Postby wbetheajr » Wed Oct 05, 2011 2:41 pm

I'm not sure if I am having a heating problem or not. On a 90+ degree day running 60 to 70 mph my temp gauge will run straight up and down. and then the first stop light I get stopped at the fans are coming on. Is this normal? This is the first wing I have had that the temp gauge worked.

Sounds about right,
On hotter summer days at traffic lights my fans always come on, then when I am travelling the temp gauge is just below straight up and down and no fans

We don't get too many 90+ days here but sounds normal to me. When you are driving the air flowing past the engine even at 90 degress keeps it cool. As soon as you stop though it's going to need some fan assist to keep it cool. No worries.
