WHAT NOW

Was riding last night almost home, the dash lights started blinking, lost some power then she just shut off. Thinking alternator could have went out. any one have the same problem?

If it just switches off, it's not the alternator. If the alternator fails, you'll still run off battery power until the battery gradually gives out.

I'd start checking fuses, then start checking relays.

start checking at the battery terminals.

check that a ground wire isn't loose

Did a little testing last night, battery was down (new) charged the battery and started the bike was only reading 11.46 at terminals with bike running and did not matter at what rpm it did not change and battery did not charge. will start at the voltage regulator this afternoon.

Sounding like the regulator or alternator has failed. If your lucky it might be a burnt up connector in the charging system (Usually between the alternator and the regulator/rectifier)..

Was the alternator tested everything up to it, got to the alternator and it was only charging 11.43 removed the -battery terminal and it shut off. evidently it had been running off the battery for a while and finally quit. thanks for all your feed back. ride safe
