Postby andys*angel* » Sun Dec 20, 2009 2:01 pm

I recently acquired a honda cb radio. If I do not have the sub harness, how can I get it to work.I have a 1988 Honda goldwing 1500GL..Can any one out there help me out? If anyone has any wiring diagrams on the pigtail hook up I really would appreciate it. I have to know what wires go where.I am really at a loss here.......

Have you had a look in the 1500 manual on the Manuals page? I'd be surprised if the pinouts aren't in there.

I got alot of help from the on-line manuals but I still need to know the wiring pattern in the cb connector.I can follow the wiring from the cassette radio.but are they the same sequence on the cb connector?.I don't wanna melt down the cb set.. If anyone knows please let me know OK ... thank-you

Simply make a harness with a new connector. Don't have a connector? Look here --> http://www.goldwingworld.com/pages/tips.htm.

The item, part number 71-1720, is what you need.

GL1500 OEM CB Tip. From Gilles Adam in Canada; For people who want to install a used OEM CB to a GL1500. If you don't have the OEM wire plug on the CB, you can replace it by a radio plug from a Honda Civic 1986 (car). It's the same plug, you just have to connect the wire up yourself.
