1993 bank angle sensor recall????
I recon I should pay closer attention to detail. Is there a way "I" can tell if this has been done already? I really don't want to take it in if I don't have to. I remember when the bike went over the side of the ravine last year. When we got it back up on the road it fired right up. I "assume" that if the bank angle sensor would have engaged it would have shut the motor off well before we went over the edge and possibly I would have needed to reset it to start it back up. Thanks.

Have a look on the Manuals page, you'll see the actual recall from Honda. If I recall, they were to stamp an X on the frame when it was done. And yes, the bike should start again once it it's righted.

There will be an X engraved on the lower right frame just below the battery.

i have a '93 1500 se. last november while riding along at 70 mph i hit a bump and my wing shut off. after turning the key off and back on the bike started back up. the next day i just happened to be at the dealer with a friend soi went to the service dept. and asked then about the bank angle sensor. the guy ran my vin and said " no your sensor has not been replaced but its still under warrenty, are you leaving the bike "? i dropped it off the following week. so i guess any dealer could check your vin

The 'X' part is correct but the location for the BAS recall isn't.
The X below the battery indicates the carb drivability update… not the BAS recall
The X should be on the frame, on the right side at the engine mount, under the cover for the oil dip stick. The X should be between the 2 tabs, on the frame.
But, the facts are that the X got forgot about sometimes and the best way is to have the recall history checked by the VIN number. You might be able to call the Service Manager and see if he can check it with Honda.

Working from defective memory. Learned something new however. I have never heard of the carb drivability update. What years were effected?raycw wrote:dingdong said:

Look at the recalls on the "Manuals" page - you can see it as "Honda Goldwing GL1500 1988 Low speed driveability improvement"dingdong wrote:Working from defective memory. Learned something new however. I have never heard of the carb drivability update. What years were effected?
