Which diode are you referring to?
There are a number of them for different systems.

The diode is part of the 'Reverse Diode Assembly'. The clutch switch, neutral light, reverse switch, and gear position switch tie to it.
It's located behind the right saddlebag.

May I suggest the Honda Factory Service Manual for the Goldwing, you cannot go wrong with them.
It will even tell you how to test the diode pack.
