1993 gl1500 hazard switch

Postby rilsejr_1 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 1:22 pm

On my 93 Goldwing the hazard light switch does not seem to work. I push the switch and it will not stay engaged and the hazard lights do not come on at all. How hard is it to repair the switch. It will not even lock in the down or on posistion.
thanks

A lot of the time it's just grease, dirt and gunk inside the switch that causes it to either not lock down, or not release.

You can clean it as described in How to free stuck pushbutton switches, but given the fact that yours is also not operating the hazard lights, I think I would want to take it apart completely and clean it thoroughly. It's not hard to do, with only two screws to separate the halves, and another couple screws inside to remove the switch mechanism itself.
