Gl1500A no neutral lite, dead starter

Postby mkdomrk » Mon Feb 06, 2012 11:27 am

This may be an old post but I'm new to the forum so here goes. Started my wing a month ago, everything was fine. Now I can't seem to get a neutral indicator to come on. Hit the starter and the headlamp goes out as should be but no indication of trying to start. Combination switch in run position. Grab clutch to bypass neutral, nothing. Battery fully charged, everything else works ok.
I'm not sure where to start chasing this problem. The only manuals I can find with schematics are in German, don't help me a bit. Can anyone shed some light on this one?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
The reverse switch goes bad and/or cables need adjustment.

Try shifting it to reverse, then back out of reverse, firmly, and see if it makes a difference.

WOW!!!
You were both right on. Even tho I had worked the reverse lever before with no results, this time I got serious. The neutral light popped on, I hit the starter, and BAM she was running. This is a totally awsome forum. Thanks for the directional help. Hope I can help someone down the road.
