Trunk & Right Saddlebeg 'Open' indicator blink

Postby lcloon » Thu Apr 26, 2012 4:16 am

Hello there. I just got my 2012 GL1800, after switch to 'ON', i can see that both trunk and right saddlebeg 'Open' indicator blinks.
After many times I open and close back the indicator still blinks, indicating that both still 'Open'.
Anyone here facing similar problem? Can give a guide on how to solve this problem?
Or I just have to send back to the dealer for checking?

Take it back to the dealer. As it is fully warranteed, they will set up or replace the lock sensors. Usually, it is just a set up, but let them do it - you paid for this service to be done before you bought the bike. Not very good pre inspection there.

I have a question. My 2001 will do the same thing if I don't firmly close the saddlebags. The trunk is fine. Is there an adjustment on this for the saddlebags or something I need to have the dealer look at?

There is a very small amount of adjustability to the latches to help the sensors show closed. Normally all that is necessary after closing them is to put some pressure on the bag lid over the latches. You may or may not hear a click to indicate that they are now fully closed, and the indicator should go out.

Each rack has two locks with switches, covers well-pressed you will hear two clicks

I have the same problem, and I only put 175 mile. I didn't know an adjustment was required.
