Well I did it! I bought a 09 last weekend

Postby tech1 » Wed May 23, 2012 8:49 am

I started out on a 83 Silverwing which I always said that when it grows up it will be a Goldwing.
it grew into a 861200 SEi and then a 88 1500. Now a 09 1800.
Sold the 88 to be triked. Hate to sell the SEi but it is not worth the fighing with the wife.

Well I hope you like the 1800, I have never owned a wing prior to my 1800, so have no idea what the others are like, but I love riding my 1800 and really like all the gadgets!!

Have plenty of fun and post plenty of pics..

It's a shame that you live so far away; it you were closer, I'd say let's take the 09 out and ride.

Yes congrates to you on your 09, I love my 07 just got it up and running again (battery) but now the Doctor is telling me "no riding or driving at all", that just sucks...

Doctors do not like motorcycles - never did, never will. Ask him what it is about the bike that troubles him; how, regarding your condition, is it different from you driving a car?

Do not give up too soon.

The issue is not so much the Bike as it is my Liver, seems I have Hepatitis C, the problem there is something called Encephalopathy, it has the tendency to cause you to pass out from time to time. Not good for riding or driving.

Tech1, congratulations on your new buy. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine. Started off with a 20-1 year old (1985) GL1200 Aspenscade. It had right at 101,000 miles on it and was in great condition. We put 20,000 more on it and made the mistake of taking a GL1800 on a test ride. My wife and I were smitten. Only thing I didn't like was the smaller trunk and side panners.

Very nice. It must be in the air, since my wife and I brought home a 09 Winger ABS just yesterday. It is our first winger but we are really stoked for it. Sold our 07 VFR800 Anniversary with full bags and trunk to get this one. Can't get it registered until Monday so I have to be content with a couple of short up and down the road rides. Can't get out on it soon enough. Oh, and the color! Oops - so excited I had to tell about it. Didn't mean to hijack your thread.
