kuryakn saddle gag lights

did anyone that have installed the kuryakn saddlebag lights on a 1800 use the scotch lock type connecters, that came with the lights or use something else?? i have never soldered before. so should i use them ?? thanks.. i have them installed just not hooked up yet.

Do not use scotch lock connectors as they cut into your wires, also over time they tend to rust up causing shorting problems.
Either solder byonet connectors or crimp these connectors onto the wires (solder preferably). If you feel you cannot soft solder or have never done it then try using connector blocks, with these you screw the wires together. The dis-advantage of the blocks is that you cannot simply pull them apart when removing something.

thanks for the reply.. so if i solder them i will be able to pull them apart if i have to? if so then i will practice soldering, then i will attempt to solder them .. thanks kevin

Solder only to connectors not directly wire to wire. If you do that you will never get them apart.
