Air filter

Postby danw » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:17 am

Does anyone know the procedure for changing the air filter on an GL1800 04 plate. I've had the bike a year now and not changed or looked at the filter would like to change it, however the owners handbook does not have any information on it. Any information re this would be helpful.

I do not have a wing, but my friend does,---and he says that it is a 4 hour job.---you have to take the fairing off just to get to it, someone will chime in that has one and tell you how ,
GOD BLESS

Heres a good pictorial with a video also. If you plan on dong more work on your own a factory manual is worth its weight in gold. Also a set of Fred Harmons maintenance videos are excellent references too.

Not the fairing! But the top shelter does get removed along w/the seat, instrument cluster and and................,
To the OP: How many miles on your bike? I will consider a change when I get to 50k

no need for such a jerk like a movie seat, unscrew the handle, push the seat back, raise the front seat and is on top, and replace the filter is up 1.5 hours!

I have a 2010 just did my filter after two years. My filter was still pretty clean, not bad at all could have gone another year easy. Took me two hours search UTUBE there's a good video out there by cruiseman. I live in so Fl was expecting a lot bugs and crap got nothing. I'll change it again in two more years.
