Replacing headligh bulb and up grade

Post by texas tracy » Fri Feb 12, 2010 11:00 am

I have a 2006 GL and the right hi beam bulb has gone out and I need to replace it. I have the headlight modulator on the bike (high beam). I have two questions: 1) What is the easies way to get to the bulb to replace it? 2) Are there headlight bulb on the market for Goldwing 1800 that is brighter than the factory light it came with? If you could point me in the right direction on these two questions I would appreciate it.

The Sylvania Silverstar bulb is incredibly bright, and draws the same amount of current - I have one on my bike, and it made a huge difference. Make sure you get the motorcycle version of the bulb though, it is made to withstand more vibration than the car version.

As for the procedure, I'd direct you to the 1800 manuals here on the Manuals page.

The SilverStar Ultras are a little brighter. I purchase all of mine on Amazone and are pretty cheap.

You will need to remove the both the left and right pocket to get to the high beam lamps.
