Rear speakers stopped working on 2009 GL1800 Level 3

Postby 2009BlueGL1800 » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:56 pm

I had my 2009 GL1800 serviced all fluids and air cleaner changed. The radio did not sound as good as before and I noticed everything was reset. So I set up the system. Just noticed that the rear speakers are not working. No sound when the Fad is on rear or in the middle setting. Does the rear speaker connector get disconnected during air filter change? Could the mechanic have left the connector disconnected during service? I checked the wiring harness in the trunk and no luck. I'm currently on a weeks vacation on the bike and would like to have the sterio system working.

I would imagine that something got disconnected and reconnected incorrectly in the Air Filter Change, as a lot of stuff has to be removed and moved for this job. I would take it back to the dealership for this.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Thank you for the reply. I also noticed I have no low beam headlights. Checked fuse and both bulbs and they are all good. Must be something else they forgot to connect. I just returned from 2,200 mile ride with wife going up through Michigan and back down through Wisconsin. Had great time but would have been better with stereo and lights. Good thing I had installed fog lights and still had brights. I'll contact my dealer to get it all checked out.

Fixed the low beam headlights buy replacing both bulbs $48.00 for a pair from WalMart H7 50% brighter. The left one had blown and took out the right one. Easy to replace without having to remove the instrument cover. Took about ten minutes.

Hello
Great got the lights. But what did you find on the speakers?
