low tire pressure indicator light

Postby jandjeubanks » Mon Jul 02, 2012 9:50 pm

My name is Johnny and I am the proud owner of a 2012 GL1800 Goldwing. Upgraded from a 2006 just last month. For the past three days the low tire pressure indicator light has been flashing and I have checked the pressure in the tire and it is at the correct pressure. Is there something else that I should be checking on or is this something that may need to be checked on by the Honda dealership?
Thanks for the help,
Johnny

I would return the bike to a dealership as it is under warrantee. If the tire pressures are correct, the light shouldn't be flashing.

I have to agree with Viking in that I would take it back to the Dealership. With the price you paid for your Wing, this is something that should never happen.

I reread your post and just realized that you indicated you checked the pressure in the tire - does this mean you checked only one tire? If so, then you need to check the other tire too. Either tire can cause the Low Tire Pressure Indicator to trigger.

I don't know about the Honda Goldwing TPMS but with the Honda FIT TPMS, you have to drive for several miles before the sensors will reset after the tires are inflated above the fault pressure value. It may be the same with the Goldwing.

Thank you all for your help. Taking it to the dealership to get it reset and hopefully that will remedy the problem. Thanks again, Johnny
