cobra mufflers

Postby Fred Blind » Sun Jul 22, 2012 12:05 pm

I started noticing a slighly differnt sound coming from my exhaust recently, upon inspection I notice the inside pipe on my colbra mufflers has a wear hole in them. I seem to recall that Colbra offers a lifetime warranty on their muffers, it that true?

Yeah, according to reviews on Wingstuff.com, it is true. You probably have to send them back to Cobra to get them to send you new ones tho... Hope you have your stockers to put on to hold you. Get hold of Cobra to verify... http://www.cobrausa.com/ Phone: (714) 692-8180

So Fred. Did you call? Did they help? What's the story? I just installed a set of Cobra's on my wing and now I'm curious as to what the future holds.

Cobra was very helpful when I bought the bike it already had the mufflers on it.
Make certain you keep your purchasing reciept for the mufflers and they will stand behind it.
The good news is it is only the bafflers I will need to replace the pipes are in great shape, I should receive the baffles this week.

I appreciate everyones help, thank you!

I purchased a replacement set of baffles for my wing, getting them out was a bear.
Finally I went to U Tube and found some helpful info on removing them, had to purchace a 3 and a half in hole saw.
Cut through the cone section inside my Cobras after removing the 2 screws from each side.
Once cut through I grabbed them with a vice grip and bonced them around and pulled them.
Last I took a chistle and removed the remanining ring that was holding them.

New baffles in it sounds great, I always throught I would like it louder, but louder was not better gave me a headache.
Now it runs nice and quite with pleanty of power when I want it.
