LOW OIL PRESSURE SENSOR PROBLEM

Postby targhee dick » Wed Sep 12, 2012 8:52 pm

HERE IS THE SYNARIO. WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR MACHINE WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING ALONG, AND YOUR "LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT" COMES ON? IT HAPPENED TO ME, AND I WANT TO SEE IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME IF THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THEM, AND WHAT THEIR ENGINE DID WHEN THE LIGHT CAME ON. I AM HEARING MANY DIFFERENT STORIES, PLEASE HELP. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, KIND OF SCARY TO GO LONG DISTANCES, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. HELP.

you need to check the oil pressure gauge and it will show whether it is a good pressure sensor, or to replace!
the sensor is on the oil filter!

THANKS FOR THE INPUT. I REALLY NEEDED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ENGINE WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING AND IT COMES ON. DOES IT SHUT DOWN OR KEEP GOING OR WHAT.

Shade tree mechanic here but Rocky, Techdude 2000 or Goldwinggreg might can help on the gl1800riders.com Forum.
Keep us updated, never know when another 1800 owner might have same problem.

Dave
