LED Fog lights

Postby hedegaard » Fri Mar 12, 2010 10:03 am

Hello.
I just bought a set of LED fog lamps for my GL1800 01 '.
It is a European model

My question now is: Does anyone have a diagram or explanation of how to mount the power to the fog lights? There's not plug and play on the EU model
Is it just done as you do in a car with a relay that controls the flow?
I look forward to your reply.

Greetings Soeren

You could do that the same way many people do aftermarket driving lights (PIAA lights come to mind)...which is with a relay---a simple bosch relay of the correct amperage would do the trick---If you don't know how to wire up a standard automotive relay for this task, check out this site:

If you want the OEM style fog light switch that goes in the fairing, you can get it here:

Note that if you buy the oem switch, you'll still need to use an appropriately sized relay from somewhere.

Hello ..
Thank you for your explanation ... I've had fog lights mounted and they work perfectly.
I used the same mounting as they do on cars with a standard relay as in your explanation. Turn on/off button to the installation came with the kit with LED fog lamps.

Thanks again for your help.

Sincerely. Søren Hedegaard
