Cruise Control will not SET

Postby bamadave » Wed Sep 19, 2012 6:51 pm

"Cruise On" light on but the "SET" light will not come on for cruise control riding.
Probably one of the cancel switches not being closed. There's one on each handlebar lever, the rear brake pedal, and the throttle.

When you try to "SET", push out on the lever as you hit the "SET" button. Do one at a time and hopefully you will find the one that is causing the problem. (For me, I lucked up being the one I tried first, the front brake lever).

The pivot bearings may be dry and the lever(s) will have to be took off and lubed.

Note: This info was a tip that worked for me by a fellow Winger and I am passing it on. :D

I had the same problem but mine turned out to be the switch on the clutch. I ended up changing the switch as the plastic had worn down and would not close. Not expensive or hard to change.
Good luck on your troubleshooting.
