Radio stopped working!

Postby Cameron 63 » Wed Oct 24, 2012 10:17 pm

The audio on my built-in Navigation system is working, so the speakers are fine but the AM/FM and Aux are not working (i.e., no sound comes out).

I'm not all that handy but I'm planning to check the fuse box. Can anyone tell me which fuse is used for those inputs? If you have any other advice on troubleshooting I'd appreciate that too.

Thanks

Check the icons on the screen for those functions. Make sure you are on speakers and not headsets!
Just a thought.
If speakers work for one function, should be working for all.
Also, make sure the mute button on your left handlebar switch box is not depressed!

Thanks for the tips on the settings. I had flipped thru those many times; those are not it. I also took it to a dealer and after verifying the settings he wanted me to take it back for service.

I opened the fuse box. The two fuses related to audio both look fine. I did see an inline fuse with a melted plastic sleeve. I finally got the fuse out but that looks fine too.

Speakers do work on Navigation, that's why I'm thinking it's something that the Radio and Aux share but doesn't involve the Nav.

Did you recently change the air filter? If so maybe the antenna or other connection was left unplugged. It happens a lot.
