1800 STALLING

Postby hallron » Sat Nov 03, 2012 7:43 am

02 ABS W/ 43,000 miles, starts right up runs perfect for a minute or so as soon as it warms up it lopes and stalls. This problem started abruptly, I thought bad fuel (ethanol) ran 3 tanks with injector cleaner to no avail. It will run at any throttle opening but at low speed it feels rich, all 6 plugs are dry and black. It had printed codes,12-17, for all 6 injectors, 22 for O2 sensor, 26 left knock sensor and 29 IAC valve. It seems strange to me to give 9 faults but only one claims to affect the idle, IAC valve. I changed the IAC valve, while in there I changed the air filter,it was ready but not terrible. Also I cleaned the throttle plates and in the throttle body throats. It still runs exactly the same way as before the work was done. Could this be a poor electrical connection that I have not found, if so, where should I look?

I would definitely suspect that O2 sensor.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

At first I thought air leak/vacuum line but at times it will run perfectly then act up. It does bounce up and down for 10-20 seconds then it a dead stall unless you blip the throttle to keep it alive. I have followed the HONDA DEALER manual and after all the checks that check out correct the book says change the ECM. I am about to bite the bullet and drop in the brain and see how it runs.
