1800gl won't start out of neutral

Postby slwsaturn » Sun Nov 04, 2012 11:28 am

I have checked the switch on the clutch side and seems to be okay. Each time I try to start in gear, it just does nothing. In neutral it starts. Anyone know where else to try?

Hey there,
Thanks for the reply. The kick stand is up in all cases. Must be a switch somewhere. If you have any other ideas along the way, please share your findings.

Hi Stephen:
Trikeman II here, I have the same problem with my GL 1800, but it is a trike, no kick stand. I hope some one knows what to do out there.
Have a wonderful day.

Was the side stand switch left on the bike after the conversion? I am pretty sure that the trike converters don't remove that switch, too complicated. The switch may be the problem for you and the OP.
Hope this helps.

Happy Thanksgiving to All

I found the problem was an inopertive switch at the clutch, installed and new one and works fine.... Thanks to All who helped me on this one.
