Front Fork Seal

Post by lsmith490 » Wed Mar 24, 2010 10:25 pm

My right front fork is leaking. While replacing the tire, I thought I'd replace the seal as well. Are there any step by step instructions anywhere? How long can a person go with a leaking seal before they MUST replace?

My main worry about a leaky fork seal is that it is going to leak down onto your brakes, and oily brakes simply don't work. If it's leaking, it's time to fix it.

What year is the bike? I had my fork seals replaced on my 08 as a warranty claim.

My fork seal went out the other day and when I was stopping the brakes were not grabbing very well. You should get them fixed immediately.
My buddy and I are going to use a video and replace mine. the seals cost at the honda shop about $18.00 per fork and you need to get the oil also.
I figured about $50.00 fr the material. Safty is the first thought.
