E3 spark plug use in an 06

Postby onelostsock » Mon Mar 25, 2013 8:49 am

Was going to put new plugs in this season and just wondered if anyone out there has used the E3 plugs before and noticed any difference in mileage or engine response etc. Just curious......Thanks for any ideas on the subject.

If you are talking about irridium some do claim a little better performance.

Sad but true. But those things are so expensive they should deliver a little bit.

I put E3 in my 02 I didn't get any better mileage.I ended up replacing them because I got alot of static on radio. At this point I was fishing for reason for static and the only thing I changed was plugs so I went back to NGK plugs.Sally

I am not familiar with E3 plugs, but I put NGK Iridium IX plugs (BKR6EIX-11) in my bike when I had only about 5,000 miles on it. I didn't like the starting and it did not seem to run smooth enough before I put them in, but I liked the way it started and ran better afterwards. As I replaced them so early on, I have no idea if they enhanced my fuel economy or not, but like I said, I think it starts better and runs smoother. But that is just my opinion, and I have no test data and no engineering degree to back this up.

Thanks all who gave opinions. I bought NGK Iridium plugs yesterday and will install them if this lousy weather ever warms a little here!! Spring is slow and coming and my 1/3 mile dirt driveway is still too soft to get out anyway! Lets pray for a warm and dry spring.
