My 2012 Navi model came with this sitting in the front left pocket. I guess it is included, but is a do it yourself install.

Yes, the connector for the AUX is under the left pocket, if I recall it is a RED 3 pin plug, all you need to do is order the the adapter plug and install it. Then plug you device and select AUX on the button. Your good to go.

The level 1 does not come with the audio cable. The connection under the left pocket is there. You will have to buy the cable or talk real nice to your dealer and see if he will give you one.
The level 2 and up come with the cable, but you still may have to install it.
I think the connector is actually white. You can tell since it has 3 wires on it. The red one may be the aux power and only has 2 wires. Both are hidden in one of the boots on the left.
You switch between the audio sources with the AUX button.

You can order the Aux audio cable and an acceessorie power socket for the left glove box from EC and install both in 30 minutes. Its silly how easy it is but even more rediculous that mother Honda didn't make them standard install on all wings. You'll want both those little upgrades and believe me they will get used a lot. They are just so convenient; Just don't drop any of the plastic rivets into the tupperware (BTW Electronic Connections also sells those reuseable rivets). Many suggest changing up the AUX power fuse for that socket, but I wouldn't risk it; the fuse protects the wiring and increasing that threshold would not be my choice (5 Amp has not been an issue so far).

does anyone know if the part # pictured in TwoBrothersbusa post above also work in the 2003? Does the 2003 have the connector behind the box for a simple plug in installation?

I'm also putting in a power point in left glove box. Everyone keeps mentioning Electrical Connections..can someone please post the exact part #s, so i can go shopping :)

Thanks

Colleen

Yours should have the connector under the left pocket. Look inside the pocket and see if there is a rubber plug. That is where the cable comes through. Yours should have come with the cable.

The left glove box is solid. no openings whatsoever. we're going to install a power point, and while it's out, also put in the audio jack for the mp3 connection. There is no audio cable in there, unless it's just free under the glove box. If it has the plug-n-play connection behind/under the box, i have no issues with buying the power point & the male 3.5 audio jack cable.

Thanks, we'll look tomorrow. We just got it home as it was getting dark.

You are correct wehrd1, there are no holes in the pocket box, you must drill them for whatever you install there.
If you buy the Honda powerlet it is plug and play and comes with installation instructions. The powerlet has different install positions depending on model year so that whatever is behind/under the pocket won't interfere with it. The location for your model year will be in the instructions. If you buy an aftermarket powerlet be sure to check for clearance before drilling the hole.
I used the Honda powerlet but ran my own 16 gauge wires to it from the accessory fuse. I want to be able to run my air compressor off of it and wasn't sure of the capacity of the plug and play wireing.

wehrd1, according to the parts fiche, there is a rubber grommet on the bottom of the left pocket on the 2003, not the cover.
#3 on the drawing: Look up the parts fiche. Listed under air duct. Grommet is #37. http://www.motogrid.com/pages/OemParts? ... 1800_A_(03)_MOTORCYCLE%2c_USA%2c_VIN%23_1HFSC470-3A200001_TO_1HFSC470-3A299999/AIR_DUCT/GL1800-03-A/2Y14MCA1MCA4F4300DA

The 2012 shows the same grommet, different location in the pocket, but still there. I installed the audio cord and did not have to drill a hole:

Once I got the box out - there is a rubber grommet in there and i found the X for drilling for the power port....and I see the wiring harness connectors for the power port and the 3.5 jack cable. I'm going to order them from Direct Line Parts, because ElecConnections wants too much shipping for the power port and the ground loop isolator that includes the 3.5 male audio cable. I'm going that route, just in case i get that whine/engine noise when i have my mp3 charging and playing at the same time.

I'm going with a 'cigarette type' power port instead of the dual usb, because I have a plug in charging thing-a-ma-jig that has 2 usb ports AND a chord with a mini usb chord for my phone. So i could charge 3 things at a time that way.

Thanks cihilb! :)
