2001 1800 Goldwing clutch slipping

Postby keto0713 » Sat May 11, 2013 8:26 pm

Recently had clutch slippage problems at 83k miles. Yesterday changed all clutch plates and o rings, today clutch is still slipping. Scratching my head wondering, what did I miss? Anyone out there have any ideas on why this thing is still doing what it was doing? Appreciate any help given!!

What brand and type of oil are you using? If you are using an oil made for motorcycles you should be OK.
If you are using automotive oil that is energy efficient it may be causing the slippage. I don't know the labeling off the top of my head but I am sure someone else can tell you what type to avoid.

Clutch springs could be the culprit.

Perhaps the hydraulic fluid in the reservoir is low, or may need to be flushed with new fluid.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey
