Recalls: Overheat and Brake

Postby lcshepp » Tue Jul 02, 2013 5:14 pm

Hi everybody,

I have a 2002 GL1800 and I missed the deadline on the overheating problem. Can anyone point me at a document for the solution to that problem? Is there a TB for it? I would like to try to fix it myself or have my mechanic fix it as I get into the appropriate situation every once in a while and am concerned about long term damage to the bike from it.

Also, I have been trying to get info from Honda (no response to two letters) about the recent brake recall. I have no decent access to a dealer and intend to pay my mechanic to fix the problem but first, I need to get the details on what the fix is... Is there a TB for that one too?

TIA for any info on these.

Leland

Hi Ric,

Thanks. I discovered that the overheating documentation actually describes what to check for and what to do if things aren't right.

But the documentation on the brake problem has almost no information in it at all.

Has anyone that has gone through the brake recall learned what was actually checked for and what was done to fix the problem?

Thanks again, Ric.

Leland
