Powder coating or Anodizing GL1800 wheels?

Postby hubbyak » Fri Aug 02, 2013 10:53 am

I am tired of buying chrome wheels and having them rust through, has anyone done powder coating or anodizing on GL1800 wheels? Which is better?

Wings arent the only ones to have issues with chrome peeling on their wheels when done. When I had my Suzuki Intruder I was looking at having it done and with the aluminum wheels peeling seems to hit a small percentage of them. Supposedly its the nature of the beast due to the makeup of the aluminum of the wheel. Some castings are more porous than others and then it happens. Heres another option you might want to look into besides powdercoating.
