Check ebay. If you must buy a whole mechanism, the aftermarket ones on ebay are much cheaper. You may also find only what you need.

Take the one out of the other mirror and go to the hardware store let them tell you what size and thread.

If you have an Ace Hardware nearby or a Home Depot you should be able to match it. But I would go with Ace first.

There is no lock washer. Did you just lose the screw? Do you still have the mirror glass?
Find an independent shop near you that can order parts when you need them, or an online source for parts to save money. The shop I deal with got me the whole mirror assembly, ready to bolt on and plug in, for $245.
As previously mentioned, if you just need the screw, Ace is the place.

If you jut need the screw, it is a 5X12. Try to get an allen head screw. No more stripped screws and you can tighten it better. A little dab of removable locktite will help. I replaced all the 'phillips' head on my '04 and again on my '12.

cihilb told you they are 5x12.
Any motorcycle shop should be able to get one for you. They are Honda p/n 90142-MCA-000

Just to let you know Im not trying to be a smarta$$ but my Ace and Home Depot have a thread guide where you screw in the bolts to get the correct size. Did they try that or did you verbally tell them? The ones by me if I tell them its for a motorcycle all bets are off on getting any help. I usually check the threads myself and if I cant find the bolt I get help from a salesperson and show them what bolt thread Im looking for. The only other places you could try would either be Farm and Fleet or Tractor supply company short of ordering from the Honda parts fiche. Heres a link to the Honda parts fiche from Cyclemax.

I used a 2007 fiche because the 2001 didnt have the price listing for the bolt. You might have to cut and paste the link also.
