Tire recommendation

Postby Dilbertfan » Fri Oct 11, 2013 2:47 pm

Hi All. I'm looking for recommendations on a front tire for my 2008 GL1800 trike. The trike is new to me and I haven't bought tires for it before. Tire size and rating: 130 70R 18 63H. Thanks.

I have heard of people using a Bridgestone Battleaxe BT-45 rear, running it backwards, although I do not believe backwards is necessary.

Thanks Viking. What is the reason for using a rear as opposed to a front for the same tire? Different tread pattern? better wear? better traction?

I have no idea. I do not have a trike. Oh, by the way, I also heard that you can get a Michelin for the front if used on a trike. Now that sounds great to me. I like Michelin. It is likely a bias ply Michelin, as they do not make a set of radial tires for the GL1800. I hope this helps.
