Trunk open flashing on dash

trunk open flashing on dash but the trunk is closed. turned bike off Sat. night everything was fine, Sun. morning turned the key and it said trunk open and won't go off. any suggestions

Hi, I had the same problem after I installed new rubber bumpers. I use to just close the lid and it would flash now, I pull and hold the handle to close it then I push on the top to hear it clip. Those top locks are real cheap and if they are forced they go out of place. The problem might be the switch in the lock, try to push down on the top near the lock to hear the click.

Also, your latch may need adjusting.

I find my latch bars in the lid have a little tolerance that allowed me to drop them just a hair, just enough to flip the contact. Also the two screws left and right in the back of the trunk can bet loose and allow the latch mechanism to dit low; it will also prevent the trunk from latching. I snugged mine up and the trunk closes and latches without any effort now, no idea why they were loose. They are recessed in holes level with where the key entry is.
