I was going to mention heli but 795 just because you want a cross bar? Sounds like there is a niche in the market to be filled. I would like something also but for less than $25.

You are, I believe, looking for a "Texelent Bar" - a bar that goes from handlebar side to side to mount accessories...

They are available directly from Texelent

http://www.texelent.com/gps_mount.htm

or from WIngstuff

http://wingstuff.com/shop/texelent

I have used the Texelent Bar on my previous 1500 and now have one on mine 1800 - I love them and mount a variety of accessories on mine as you can see in the attached photo... In this photo, I have my Butler Mug attached to it, as well as my 665 Zumo, and a small Marine weatherproof voltmeter... I did have my 665 XM antenna on it but moved it to the rear of the bike for better isolation between it and the Zumo (there are minimum distances between the GPS and antenna)... At one time I also had my Illinois I-Pass Transponder mounted to it but I recently moved to Tennessee so I don't need that anymore...

I think you will find it to be quite a handy device... I would also recommend you purchase a few different mounting adapters for it, depending on what you need to mount on the bar... My Texelent Bar is mounted high on my 1800 but was mounted low on my 1500... I had to mount it high on this bike so my handlebar mounted pouch (not seen in photo) would clear my Tire Watch TPMS monitor (this one reads the OEM TPMS sensors on my 09 bike)... Let me know if you have any questions about it...

Les

FYI The $795 Helibar is for a completely new adjustable handle bar system, not just the cross bar
