Another Brake Recall Coming

Postby winger05 » Sat Sep 06, 2014 8:05 pm

It appears another brake recall is in the works for the rear brake system on the 1800's. Link to article is below:

Well its about time. Even after Hondas 1st recall check some of us are still having rear brake issues. Makes me wonder if their so called techs are applying the test correctly to the bikes or some dealers are fudging the tests.

I agree. Honda has spent more time, money, and bad publicity over this issue when they should have just replaced the part in question during the first recall. I guess this is turning into the equivalent to the GM ignition thing?

Received my recall notice yesterday telling me to wait for another notice after they come up with a remedy to the brake problem. Seems like they should have this figured out by now??

I don't think they have really solved it yet. My notice of the second recall dealt more with self testing and if a problem is noted to then take it to the dealer.

I have heard that one theory is dirty brake fluid--not changed every year or so. But no proof that Honda is keying on that!

Didn't see it in your posted link, but they had a recall when I bought my 2012 without my vin # on the list. Looking forward to the update.
