CB STUCK ON RX

Post by oakrunjim » Wed Dec 10, 2014 3:18 pm

My 2009 goldwing sat three months while recuperating from knee surgery, now the CB is stuck on RX any suggestions?
If I key it on it goes to TX but when the key is let go it goes back to RX

If you adjust the squelch, does it make any difference?

+1
If you are hearing "static", increase the squelch level until the static stops.

I tried that. Then I disconnected and charged the battery and replaced it and all appears well as of today. I will replace the battery this week.

Actually this same thing happen to my 2008 a year ago. By unhooking the battery you recycled the CB to solve the problem. They recommend that if this happens again to first disconnect wire to CB ( in trunk) and then disconnect battery. Then reconnect CB and then battery.

Thanks for the replies. Unhooking the battery did the trick. I wonder what that is all about?
