lowering bars on 2002 Gl 1800 Wing

Postby YAR » Tue Dec 23, 2014 5:00 am

Hi all
A previous question I put up was the fact that I was struggling with the weight of the Wing when stationary on inclines> Thanks for all the suggestions received, although have not had any feedback with regard to fitting a side-car to the aluminium frame, of which I believe has been known to fracture at some welds , another thought I have had, given that I can plant both feet down ok, has anybody any information on actually lowering the handle bars even a couple of inches would at least get my arms down lower to assist with pulling the bike up when leaning over as, my for-arms are horizontal
and i feel that if they were lower it would certainly help (clip ons would be great ,ha ha ) The leg up wheels was an option but are so very expensive to get to Australia

A Handlebar repositioning kit is available, which can move the handlebars closer, wider, narrower, higher or lower, depending on how they are installed. You could view them here:

Another company does sell a much more in depth kit for around $800 US. They can be researched here:

It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey
