1800 aux cable

Postby m2102 » Thu Mar 19, 2015 6:12 pm

I just recently bought a 2001 1800 wing and it has no aux cable that I can find under the left fairing pocket. I can get the cable. my question is, where does it plug into? I looked under the pocket and couldn't see anywhere it would. any help or a picture where it plugs into would be great. it came with no owners manual.

It also shows the wire colors going into the plug on the bike as White, Black, and Green. 3 wires.
Also it is a white plug and is in the same weather cover as a red plug. In the pic it is C35.
Good Luck.

even better look. I believe I saw that red plug when I took the pocket out. helps to narrow down my search. I got it from the second owner and the cable isn't in there. probably got disposed of. got it from the owner of NATIONAL CYCLES, the make on site windscreens, wind wings and a couple other things.

If you plan to keep the wing for any time you might want to pick up a Factory Service Manual and an Owners manual. Check on this site first but if not available go to: http://www.helminc.com/

A quick check revealed that they have the Service manual in book form as well as CD. I prefer the book and have taken mine apart and put the pages in document protectors and into a notebook so the grease gets on the protector and not the page---much easier to clean. That is my problem with the CD also as then the grease is on the computer. The CD does have the advantage of being very portable and capable of travelling on the bike.

These books are not cheap but then if you figure you will own the bike for 5 years that spreads the cost out longer. I have had my 04 wing and book since 2004 so that price is pretty cheap by now. And it has paid for itself several times.

Just a thought and I hope by now you have found that electrical connector.

Great advice Harvey! That is what I did last year when I picked up my FB. Got the service manual and the owners manual came with the bike. That is where I got the info to pass on.

thanks for all the replies. yes I found the red plug and the one I need to plug in the aux cable. looked at the link for a owners manual and price wasn't that bad. I have the owners manual and repair manual from my 1500 that I no longer need if any one is interested.
