front brake grab

front brake grabbing on 03 GL1800. not bad, just annoying. feel it in the lever.. pads look good. only 1100 miles on them. Any suggestions?

sounds like you have a caliper piston seizing up.

First find the cause before deciding how to fix it. See if there is anything on the disc itself. Sometimes if you do a hard stop, heating the disc up very hot, and hold it stopped like that, some of the organic compound from the pads will transfer to the disc, and is next to impossible to remove. You will then get a pulsing/grabbing every time you brake.

If it is grabbing once per wheel revolution, this is what I would look for. If it is running fine, then all of a sudden grabbing, I'd look more to the anti-dive or balancing valves.

I know Honda has a recall on GL1800 brakes. My is a trike conversion, so I don't know if the recall applies to my situation or not. I dont know anything about balancing valves or anti-drive. Sounds to me like motorcycle brakes are more complicated that car/truck brakes which I have worked on many many times.
