Amazing improvement after modification

Amazing improvement after modification

I have had my bike in shop to get some upgrades done. They installed the Progressive Cartridge Kit, the progressive rear spring, All Balls tapered steering head bearings and All Balls wheel bearings. I got also a new set of Avon Cobras, balanced with RideOn.

After 150 km riding back home I only can say it feels like a new bike. No wobbling anymore. The steering is perfect, the suspension is awesome and I got between 2” and 3” more ground clearance. I should not have wait so long for it. I have a 2003 GL 1800 with 98.000 km on it.

Usually I rode with a preload of 16 (single). After the suspension has changed, I adjusted it back to 10 and it is still stiffer than before.
My first impression, I got a sport touring bike now. :D :D :D

Glad to hear you like the Monotubes.I wanted a set,but they weren't in the budget last year so I just ended up with Progressive springs in the front.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

Geez, another Edmonton guy! I recently posted , looking for info on suspension. How much did it cost to have this work done. If you wouldn't mind sharing? Could you break it down, as I am more interested in the suspension work right now. I don't need to ask if you are happy at least!

I love my progressive suspension setup, the extra couple of inches ground clearance makes such a difference in the bends! Fortunately my legs are long enough that I have no trouble touching the floor even with the extra ride height!! It made such a difference to the comfort and confidance of this beast.. Money well spent..
