broken throttle

Iwas gooing to work felt something pop in handle grip had no throttle response pulled the control apart didnot see anything broke.Ihave a2005 gl1800.are they bad for throttl cable ? had a shadow i put 2 sets on. going on vacation was planning on riding and not working on it.

Every bike will break a throttle cable eventually. It's not the end of the world to fix - and make sure you replace both the pull and the push cable. They're likely the same age, and you don't want to have to pull it all apart again six months down the road to replace the other one.

thanks I have ordered parts already always do sets. Will probably order another set just to have a spare so i will not have to wait a week untill my boat comes in.

Well beat me with a stick .I changed the throttle cables .there is actually there is 3 .One goes to the throttle body, the pusher goes to a elec. switch type device that i could not find in service maneul. by the way doesnt list replacing cables .The 3rd goes from device to throttle body. Any body that changes these cables that is not familar with the gl1800 should give themselfs at least 2 days. Took me at least 12 hrs . Ihave changed them on honda shadows ,but that was a differt ball of wax
