Bags lock when they aren't supposed to.

I had the air cleaner replaced by a dealer and ever since the bags lock automatically all the time. Could some wiring have gotten messed up when things were put back together?

You didn't say but you must have a GL 1800. Someone evidently locked your trunk manually (with the key) instead of using the key fob remote. The trunk lock was actuated manually and it ( the lock cylinder)was left in the wrong position when key was removed. Use your key and change the position, this will cancel out the auto-lock feature.
